Katlego Letsoalo
Topic: The Perfect Storm Katlego is a qualified mining engineer and currently works as a Monitoring and evaluation specialist. Mr Letsoalo was part of a team of 23 well selected young African Leaders under 40 in 2019 who are considered as the next generation of thought leaders in the Minerals and Metals sector by the University of Cape Town. Part of this UCT programme included analysing the African Mining Vision and addressing challenges faced by the extractive sector through the application of various policy instruments. Katlego is a Council member of Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) and previously chaired the SAIMM YPC which represents just over 2000 professionals under 35 years in Southern Africa. He is a big advocate for young professionals and challenges facing the youth in the minerals and metals sector and continues to advocate for them in various platforms. Through his leadership, active YPC branches have been established in Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Democratic Republic of Congo. Katlego prides himself by continuously redefining boundaries and advocating for young professionals in the Minerals Sector. |
