The Control and Management of Diesel Engine Exhaust Emissions, Including Particulate Emissions in the South African Context
25 February 2014 |Emperors Palace Convention Centre, Johannesburg

The recent declaration of IARC that diesel engine exhaust emissions are classified as a Group I carcinogen for humans, demands a more assertive approach in modern mining operations in Southern Africa.

The challenges are in the application of First World standards in a developing environment where infrastructure, education and resources need to be developed and fast-tracked.

A co-ordinated, multi-disciplinary approach is required to meet internationally acceptable emission and exposure standards within the proposed time-frames.
