Student Colloquim

The Colloquium introduces the best students to the mining industry at the threshold of their career and to allows them the exposure to communicate their work to a professional audience. This year, students from the mining and metallurgical departments of the Universities of the Witwatersrand, Pretoria, and Johannesburg together with metallurgical students from the Tswane and Vaal Universities of Technology will present their final projects on the 19th of October 2009 at the Sanlam Auditorium in Pretoria.

The SAIMM wishes to reach further into the mining industry in 2009, and to persuade more mining and metallurgical professionals to attend and see the caliber of young person’s about to embark on their careers in the mining industry. This has become more important, especially since the demand for mining engineers and metallurgists has risen so dramatically in recent years.

A cocktail party will be held after the event.
