What contribution do you see yourself making to the Young Professionals Council and the SAIMM? :
Given my current expertise and experience being in leadership at University and leading a Geological Society on University I see myself contributing to the Education Group of the YPC. Taking that into consideration I will be able to fulfil the goals of the Education Working Group of the YPC.
Interactions/activities that you currently participate in within the SAIMM (if applicable):
I am currently participating in the SAIMM Protégé Membership Program. Further contacted the YPC on my own initiative to try and be an active member wherever possible I had been into contact with Tshepo Mmola, the Chairman and have been in contact with the SAIMM KZN Zululand Branch in order to assist them with their membership.
Qualifications:
- NSC Matric Certificate with five Distinctions (2012)
- Current final year undergraduate BSC Geological Sciences student at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Brief career history:
I have been pursuing a BSC Geological Sciences Degree at UKZN since 2014. I have been an active member at both the GSSA and SAIEG since 2014. I have leadership experience being the chairman of a society in 2015 as well as being the UKZN SRC Academic and Transformation Officer in 2015. I am currently the UKZN SRC President as well as the UKZN Geological Society Chairman.
