Technology in mining is not just helpful from a cost efficiency and production point of view, according to a new report released by the Economists' Intelligence Unit. The report, entitled "The New Canary in the Mine" shows that 74 percent of mining company executives believe that The report looks at the role that mobile technology has played in transforming the mining industry. According to the report, 84 percent of mining executives report an improvement in health and safety hazard detection, through the adoption and use of mobile technology.
