Namibia Branch Re-Launch

You are invited to the Re-Launch of the Namibia Branch.

The Namibia Branch has not been active post-COVID and are keen to start Branch activities for members and other stakeholders.

To this end, several members have come together to plan the re-launch of the Branch to coincide with the Rare Earths Conference, which is scheduled for 18 – 20 June in Swakopmund.

There will be an opportunity for members who wish to join the Branch Committee to do so at this event. In the meantime, Mr Tomas Aipanda has agreed to be the interim Chairperson.

Tomas has more than 12 years’ experience in open pit hard rock mining. In that time, he has been exposed and lead key mining sections such as drilling, blasting, planning & shift management.

This complete experience and full appreciation of the mining profession and all its facets. The last 5 years have given me an opportunity to lead in various roles. This allowed me to develop and mature in leadership. I pride myself on my work ethics, technical ability, and servant leadership which I believe are fundamental in successful mine management. I currently lead and manage a team of 120 employees on the shift, spanning from drilling, hauling, dispatching, ore spotting & breakdown maintenance.
