The conference will focus on improvement in health and safety, as well as the environmental impact the mining and metallurgy industries have on the local communities they serve while highlighting actions to be taken.
It will be a learning platform, allowing people to share ideas on health and safety, the environmental aspects which local communities need to be aware of, concerning the industry and its relationships with them.
This conference aims to bring together management, DMR, Minerals Council South Africa, Unions, Health and Safety practitioners at all levels from the industry. Sharing best practice and successful strategies for zero harm and a value-based approach to health and safety. With the purpose of addressing the main challenges in the mining industry such as logistics, energy, employee safety, contractors and the communities at large.

Papers and presentation must be of a technical nature covering the topics suggested, but not limited to these topics.
Presentations that refer to the use of a specific product or service must give practical and technical case studies that have been applied in the industry. Prospective authors and presenters are invited to submit titles and abstracts of their papers or presentations in English.
Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words and should be submitted in English to
