AVA will share their most recent experience and learnings from implementing and integrating new and existing hardware and software packages into a real time solution to drive quality management from the face.

About the presenter: Jason van der Watt read in Industrial Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand. Jason, a radical within the Internet of Things realm, has extensive experience in “big data and constraint modelling” within Mining and Supply Chain Management.

Jason started his career at Cyest Corporation where he did extensive data analytics and constraint modelling for some of Africa’s largest mining houses across multiple commodities.

He then went on to take up a more operational role at Metalloys Ferro-Manganese smelter for BHP Billiton, finally exiting South 32 corporate (following the demerger) to co-found AVA full time.
In his spare time, he plays underwater hockey, builds furniture and teaches his new born daughter modern physics.
