What contribution do you see yourself making to the Young Professionals Council and the SAIMM?:
I am an early career researcher. Thus, I perceive myself adding value to the YPC through inspiring fellow young professionals to publish technical and fundamental papers that are of benefit to members of the institute. Also, I can be of help in guiding my peers on how to use the scientific method more effectively in solving problems in their areas of work.
Interaction/activities that you currently participate in within the SAIMM (if applicable):
- I am a member of the Education Working Group and champion the Publications Portfolio within the YPC. In the broader SAIMM, I am at present working within the Publications Committee and also assisting with the upcoming Digitalisation Conference.
Qualifications:
- MSc in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering (Wits, ZA), BSc hons in Applied Chemistry (NUST, ZW)
Brief career history:
- I have served as a teaching and research assistant at NUST, ZW following my graduation. After that, I pursued postgraduate education on a fulltime basis. At present, I am a PhD student.
