5th
Sulphur and Sulphuric Acid 2015 Conference

8-9 April - Conference | 1
0 April - Technical Visit
Southern Sun Elangeni Maharani KwaZulu-Natal,
South Africa

The production of SO2 and Sulphuric acid remains a pertinent topic in the Southern African mining, minerals and metallurgical industry.

Due to significant growth in acid and SO2 production as a fatal product, as well as increased requirement for acid and SO2 to process Copper, Cobalt and Uranium, the Sub Saharan region has seen a dramatic increase in the number of new plants. The design capacity of each of the new plants is in excess of 1000 tons per day.

This event provides a forum for producers, technology suppliers, consumers, the legislator and other role players in the industry to discuss relevant issues on the topics related to acid and SO2 production.

To ensure that you stay abreast of developments in the industry, The Southern African
Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, invites you to participate in a conference on the production, utilization and conversion of Sulphur, Sulphuric acid and SO2 abatement in metallurgical and other processes to be held April 2015 in KwaZulu-Natal.

Catalysis in Sulphuric Acid Plant-Workshop 7 April 2014

SAIMM in conjunction with Sulphuric Acid 2015 Conference is proud to announce the ...

Catalysis in Sulphuric Acid Plant-Workshop
hosted and sponsored by BASF

Efficient operation of sulphuric acid plants remains a challenge. Key to optimizing operation is a sound understanding of sulphuric acid catalysis.

During this interactive workshop we will take a deep dive into all relevant parameters around sulphuric acid catalysis starting from theory to practice. The theoretical background will be complemented by practical examples and best practices from plants around the world. The content is presented such to enable attendees to make educated decisions around selection, operation and exchange of sulfuric acid catalysts in order to fully utilize the potential of their plant.

In addition the latest developments on design, maintenance and operation will be addressed and reviewed, making this course a must-attend for sulphuric acid plant managers and engineers.
