Rock related accidents remain one of the major causes of injuries and fatalities in South African hard rock tabular mines. These accidents can also have a significant economic impact on operations. It is therefore imperative that managers, planners, and mine inspectors are aware of the critical aspects of current rock engineering practice.
This school will provide a comprehensive summary of current rock engineering practice and will highlight the critical aspects that managers need to consider during design and operation.
