Mapetswa Desiree Futhana is an experienced metallurgist and Operations Superintendent at Dampier Ports, Rio Tinto Iron Ore, Western Australia. She brings a diverse background working across various commodities including platinum, magnetite ore, heavy mineral sands, and iron ore.
Throughout her career, Mapetswa has held progressive roles such as Graduate Metallurgist, Senior Process Engineer, Metallurgy Superintendent, and Production Superintendent.

With 27 years of mining experience, Jasper has ten (10) years of experience at senior / executive levels in complex jurisdictions with a multinational. His most recent roles in the mining industry include Senior Vice President for Africa with AngloGold Ashanti. In his 17 years with AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), Jasper was the change agent for three businesses in multicultural East and West Africa, culminating in his appointment in 2019 as the Senior Vice President for the African region.
