About the webinar

Distributed Fibre Optic Sensing Advances in Mining and Beyond
The guest speaker John David from Mining3 in Australia will explain important recent advances in distributed fibre optic sensing (DFOS) as the backbone to a real-time digital nervous system for mines.

John will briefly explain the DFOS technology and share mining industry case studies using DFOS that focus on the bottom-line value to business

  • The production advantages of using DFOS data in block cave mining.
  • Sensor fusion of DFOS for ground monitoring applications and its importance for ESG reporting
  • Conveyor belt monitoring applications
  • Gas drainage flow detection for coal seam gas drainage
  • Future developments and technology constraints

There will be a short Q & A session as well as a call to action for mine engineers to join the DFOS PositioNXT community to look at opportunities to collaborate on new applications and projects.
