Wabtec Digital Mine on the evolution of Collision Awareness Systems in Mining
COST: FREE

About the Webinar

Collision Awareness Systems are broadly used by most of the large mining companies who are demanding improved capabilities from their systems.  In addition to enhancing safety and saving lives, collision awareness systems can have an economic impact and help validate the effectiveness of operator training.

There is an industry need for the introduction of technology that provides advisory instructions and control intervention to stop the vehicle in high risk scenarios, meeting EMERT Level 8 and 9 requirements and further enhancing the safety of operation of heavy equipment.

In this webinar we will review the advances in collision awareness technology and share the roadmap of where the technology is going for operator-controlled vehicles.  In addition, we look at the experience that Miners have had with the use of collision awareness systems – benefits, operator acceptance and overall impact on operations.  They have experienced a significant decrease in vehicle interaction, improvements in operator situational awareness, and have been able to focus their operator training to reduce risk.

Join this interactive webinar to see a live demonstration of Wabtec’s Digital Mine Collision Awareness Solution suite. This informative session will provide an opportunity to learn, see and engage in the future of Digital Mine.

Who should attend and why?

Wabtec’s Collision Awareness Solutions, CAS, can assist in managing Vehicle Interaction (VI) Risk at levels 7-9 in the EMESRT VI risk control hierarchy, levels 1-6 being the mine site controls which need to be mature as CAS should not be viewed as a silver bullet solution.  CAS can enable Increased Safety of Operations in order to achieve ‘ZERO-HARM’ objectives with reduced safety incidents related to Vehicle Interactions.  Finally, CAS can assist in Cost Avoidance with reduced safety & metal-to-metal incidents and subsequent production loss from these incidents.

If you are interested in driving towards ‘zero-harm’ by safeguarding your Miners, equipment and infrastructure with Wabtec’s Environmental Health & Safety Solutions then join this webinar.  Solutions discussed will include proximity detection equipment and strategies around pro-actively identify Collision Avoidance scenarios.
