Professor Steven Rupprecht

Steven has 34 years mining experience commencing his career in 1986 with Gold Fields of South Africa where he gained underground production mining experience working at a number of underground gold mines. In addition to Production Experience on several Gold Fields of South Africa mine Steven has worked as:
- Group Mining Engineer for Gold Fields of SA (Consulting Engineering Division)
Group Coal Mining Engineer for Gold Fields of SA (Consulting Engineering Division)
Research Manager for South Africa’s Council of Science for Industrial Research (CSIR)
Principle Mining Engineer for International Consulting Company
Technical Director for South African listed coal company
Steven is currently an Associate Professor in Mining Engineering at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa
Specialising in Underground Logistics, Mine Planning & Design, International Reporting Codes and Artisanal and Small Scale mining
Steven is a Fellow of the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM), a member of the SAIMM Council, and is a member of the SAMREC Working Group, SAIMM Publication Committee and TPC (mining) Advisor on the YPC.
